What Type Of Detective Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

If you’re new to the crime-solving game and are wondering what kind of detective you will be when the time comes, we’ve put together a low-down based on our expertise on all things murder-mystery, investigations and crime-solving, based off your zodiac sign.

Aries (March 21st - April 19th)

Oooh we have a brave, tenacious detective here! You are not afraid of reaching new heights in a crime, no matter what risks lie ahead.

You are full of confidence and you’re ready to get to the bottom of any crime, which can sometimes come across as infuriating to your fellow detectives. You often push to get your way, whether that’s being the top detective or leader of the group thanks to your fiery nature. 

Despite your competitiveness, you really just want to be loved and valued, which makes you a great teammate as you will fight to stick up for others and fight for them if need be. 

Taurus (April 20th - May 20th) 

Just like your zodiac sign, the bull, you are a resilient and stubborn detective - which is not a bad thing at all when it comes to solving crimes. 

Whatever you encounter, nothing brings you down for long, whether that’s false evidence or a missing clue, you will take your time to piece the evidence together before reaching your conclusion - you make careful decisions which often lead to clever discoveries. 

Depending on your mood, you can either be frighteningly fierce, which should be a threat to any suspects or serenely gentle, which can come handy for any sensitive situations you may come across in your case.

Gemini (May 21st - June 20th)

Known as the ‘Peter Pan’ of the zodiacs, you’re up for big adventures, you’re fickle, clever and can sometimes come across as a know-it-all - but in detective work, that’s not a flaw because you’re extremely good at communicating with your fellow detectives.

You like to think outside the box, thanks to your creative nature as nothing is what it seems with you, which means you may spot loopholes and things others may not pick up on.

You see all sides of things, meaning everyone is a victim in your eyes until proven guilty - you hedge your bets until all cards are on the table. 

But be careful, curiosity can get the better of you sometimes, so be careful not to get yourself in trouble...

Cancer (June 21st - July 22nd) 

You get too emotionally invested with the case and you can’t help but feel attached to the people involved. You also tend to keep yourself guarded, meaning you don’t let many people in on what you’re thinking, or sometimes, who you think committed the crime. 

Sometimes it’s hard for you to push past one piece of evidence, as you tend to eyeball it and focus on it so much - but ultimately, you are loyal and dedicated to your cases which means you’re a good problem solver and you’re good at cracking the case in the end. 

Also a word of warning: Cancerian detectives may seem approachable, but if crossed, watch out!

Leo (July 23rd - August 22nd) 

We have ourselves another detective who loves to take the lead!

But you play the role so well - every team of detectives needs a Leo as they ARE the alpha and it’s easy for you to get on with things, no messing about and be the boss. 

Like your zodiac symbol, you are also regal and noble like the Lion and you’re good at protecting those who are vulnerable - whether that’s fellow detectives who have got themselves in a pickle, or suspects or those involved with the case. 

Be careful though, if you don’t get your own way, you tend to get moody so don’t let your irascibility get in the way of ultimately solving the crime. 

Virgo (August 23rd - September 22nd)

A brilliant, all-round detective, if their inner demons don’t get in the way…

Virgos are smart, analytical, perceptive and helpful, which are strong skills to have in a detective team as you’re spot on when it comes to your crime solving methods. You are also very happy to help others, which makes you a great teammate to have. 

However, if things go wrong, your inner-critic can start going off in your head meaning you can be very hard on yourself if a piece of evidence doesn’t match up, or you’re on the road to cracking a big part of the case and it doesn’t formulate. 

You can sometimes come across as a bit of a perfectionist, but your heart is in the right place - you just need to be better at communicating with your fellow detectives by not bottling things up.

But ultimately, you’re a practical, supportive aide to your team and everyone needs a Virgo in their team (you just like to be praised for your efforts to shut down that little voice in your head)

Libra (September 23rd - October 22nd) 

A very balanced detective, just like your zodiac symbol, the scales. Keeping everything on an even kneel and behaving with fairness as your driving motivation in every case.

You are the charming one of the bunch, which is always an asset in a team when it comes to investigating witnesses and suspects. Your company is never tiring and your teammates all want a bit of your energy to keep morale high. 

However, all that diplomacy and smoothness can create inner tension for you - you tend to procrastinate during the process, can struggle to commit and you try to avoid any conflict or stress - you just want everyone to get along!

With the right team, you are clever enough to push past this and with your charming and people-pleasing nature, you will follow the right path to success!

Scorpio (October 23rd - November 21st)

Beware suspects: Scorpions are kinda dangerous and secretive which can poison you if riled! Not to be messed with…

You are strong, powerful, independent and ruthless - you know exactly what you want and how to get it, which makes you an excellent detective in crime-solving situations. You are very passionate about your work, which can tend to come across as a bit intense and a little bit dangerous!

Others in your team are drawn to your dark charisma, but if they get on the wrong side of you, they can be stung and your independent nature can often mean you do things by yourself and get ahead of things, so be careful of that!

However, you are incredibly loyal to your team and to any case that comes your way - but you expect loyalty back! 

You are also very happy to analyse people all day long and you will never allow a witness or suspect’s laser beam of questioning or insight be turned on you. You mean business and will ultimately do well as a detective! 

Sagittarius (November 22nd - December 21st)

Like your symbol, The Archer, you aim high and true, love the outdoors and enjoy the thrill of a case - perfect!

You have a #nofilter approach which sees you saying whatever springs into your head out loud,  including what other people are thinking too - depending on the scenario, this can either be a pro or a con. 

However, your funny and friendly nature usually means you can get away with murder (okay, not literally!) but you never come across as malicious and don’t intend to be either.

You were a born detective, Sagittarius - your freedom loving, energetic, philosophical, adventure seeking persona are all traits that put you in good stead.

As a fire sign ruled by Jupiter, this makes you the luckiest of star signs too and your fellow detectives can always do with a bit of extra luck during investigations!

Capricorn (December 22nd - January 19th)

Always climbing high. No stone is left unturned with you!

You are a hard worker, no questions asked and you will strive and persist with anything that faces you in order to achieve your end goal. This is a good sign because a lot of detective work needs your determination. 

You are also very materialistic, meaning you take every piece of evidence into consideration and reap from rewards if you’ve done a good job. Your patient nature is also a strength, as unlike some other zodiac signs who get impatient, you take your time and are happy for a case to unfold in it’s own time. 

You are a solid team member, with lots of your fellow detectives looking to you to lean on when needed!

Aquarius (January 20th - February 18th)

The water-bearer water sign - symbolically, it represents the truth which you strive to deliver freely and fairly into the world - and strive to get out of suspects too! 

You’re a mixed bag detective, sometimes, you come across as outgoing and friendly, which is great for team scenarios - but other times, you are closed-off and private which makes it hard to figure you out.

Your assertive and confident nature of your own opinions can come across as being disinterested in others opinions - it’s important you let others have their say and don’t let your opinion cloud your judgement and ultimately, your success in solving the crime. 

But you’re clever, technology-savvy (a big thumbs up!) and innovative. You only want the best for situations and cases - you’re a good detective, but you certainly dance to your own beat!

Pisces (February 19th - March 20th)

Like your symbol: two fishes tied to one another + swimming in different directions = conflicting desires and extremes of temperament. 

You are intuitive, meaning you seem to have this strange and wonderful ability to know something is not quite right without any evidence or reasoning process. You’re not sure how, but it’s a gut feeling and you have to go with it which often leads you closer to solving the crime - go you!

You also really GET people. You know what makes people tick and this can be vital in figuring suspects out. But you also have a lot of understanding and are very wise - you know your stuff - sometimes TOO much stuff!

However, don’t let your compassion and idealism get in the way of your emotions. You tend to find the world a cruel and tough place to be in sometimes and detective work is sometimes not all roses and daisies - you just feel things more deeply than the rest of the zodiac signs!
